Day 2
Sunrise at Uluru & Field of Light
Start your sunrise trek around the 12-kilometre base trail of Uluru and embrace the culture, geology, and environment that make this monolith so extraordinary. Along the trail, you will witness the sunrise, visit waterholes, explore ancient rock art sites, and learn about Uluru's cultural significance to the Anangu (local Aboriginal) people.
A Night at “Field of Light”
Created by internationally acclaimed artist Bruce Munro, the Field of Light installation has to be seen to be believed. You’ll be welcomed at an exclusive dune top just after the sun sets, where you can savour a selection of outback canapés with sparkling wine or beer as your host provides insight into the light installation. As darkness falls, 50,000 glass spheres gently come to life, set under a brilliant sky full of stars. Field of Light invites you to explore and lose yourself in the rhythms of coloured light.
Day 3
Uluru to Kings Canyon
Leaving Uluru behind, travel across the desert landscape, stopping at Kings Creek Station, a vast farming property, for lunch. Immerse yourself in Indigenous culture with a visit to the Wanmarra Aboriginal Community, where you’ll learn about the Luritja and Pertame people’s spiritual connection to the land. Discover bush foods and medicines used for spirituality and healing.
As the evening falls, the flickering glow of a fire under the starry southern hemisphere sky sets the perfect scene for your Under a Desert Moon Local Dining Experience.
Accommodation: Kings Canyon Resort - Deluxe Room - 1 Night
Day 4
Kings Canyon to Alice Springs
Gaze across the deep chasm at the edge of Kings Canyon as you embark on a sunrise 6-kilometre rim walk past the domed ‘Lost City’ and down into the lush ‘Garden of Eden.’ You will then continue your journey to Alice Springs. This evening, enjoy an open-air dinner around a campfire with your local hosts as the Milky Way lights up the sky.
