Day 1

Cairns

Begin your adventure by collecting your Maui camper where the team will give you a thorough briefing on everything you need to know to feel confident on the road. Then you’re ready to dive straight into the action.

Stroll along the Esplanade, relax at the Lagoon, or visit the nearby Daintree Rainforest for a taste of the region’s unique wildlife and lush landscapes. For a truly unforgettable experience, head to the Great Barrier Reef. You can snorkel or dive in its crystal-clear waters, or enjoy a scenic flight or glass-bottom boat tour to discover the vibrant coral and marine life beneath the surface.

Day 2

Cairns to Girringun National Park 362KM – Driving time 5 hours

After leaving Cairns, head south towards Mission Beach. This beautiful spot, where the sparkling ocean meets the rainforest, is the perfect place to relax before continuing your journey.

Continue on for approximately two hours to reach Wallaman Falls, Australia’s highest waterfall, located in Girringun National Park. Take some time to explore the short walking tracks through the lush rainforest, or if you're up for an adventure, you can access the Wet Tropics Great Walks from the park.

For the final stretch of the day, drive a short distance to Ingham and park your camper for the night at Ingham Tourist Park. Ideally located near the TYTO Wetlands, this is a great base for exploring the surrounding attractions.

Day 3

Girringun National Park  - Townsville 129KM - Driving time 1 hour 45 minutes

Drive for about an hour and a half from Ingham to Townsville, North Queensland's capital, for two days of exploration. Visit the Museum of Tropical Queensland and the Museum of Underwater Art, snorkel or dive, then enjoy dining at Bridgewater Restaurant. Discover Magnetic Island by sea kayak or visit Ayr Nature Display.

Day 4

Townsville to Airle Beach – 293KM – Driving time 3 hours 40 minutes

Spend Days 4 and 5 at Airlie Beach in the heart of the Whitsundays. After coffee, explore the coral reefs with some snorkelling. Stroll the Airlie Beach Boardwalk and savour Italian cuisine at La Marina. Unwind at Cedar Creek Falls with its beautiful waterfalls and bush walks.

Day 5

Airle Beach to Mackay – 324KM – Driving time 4 hours 30 minutes

Arrive in Mackay and relax at the Bluewater Lagoon with a swim in one of its three lagoons. Explore Eungella National Park and look for platypuses at Broken River. Visit the Botanical Gardens, then tour the Sarina Sugar Shed to learn about sugarcane farming and sample local products.

Day 6

Mackay to Rockhampton – 401KM – Driving time 5 hours

Enjoy a scenic drive from Mackay to Rockhampton. Visit the Rockhampton Art Gallery for mid-20th-century Australian art and explore the renowned Rockhampton Botanic Gardens. Don't miss the Capricorn Caves nearby, then unwind with a delicious meal at Headricks Lane.

Day 7

Rockhampton to Bundaberg – 297KM – Driving time 3 hours 30 minutes

Drive south to Bundaberg, taking the scenic coastal or inland route. Visit the Bundaberg Rum Distillery for a tour and tasting of Australia's favourite rum. Explore the Bundaberg Art Gallery, then enjoy the Hinkler Hall of Aviation and the Botanic Gardens before heading to Brisbane.

Day 8

Bundaberg to Brisbane – 493KM – Driving time 6 hours 20 minutes

Complete your trip in Brisbane, exploring the vibrant city before returning your Motorhome to Maui’s Brisbane branch. Spend time shopping at Queen Street Mall and browsing the Brisbane City Markets for souvenirs. For craft beer lovers, follow the city’s craft beer trail and enjoy local brews along the way.
